Fit For Safety offers two CPD Certificated home safety courses aimed at professionals and practitioners involved with children and families, or the elderly, in the home environment.
A practical hands on course in early years’ child safety. The course covers why and how national statistics reflect the accidental injury problem within the home environment, looking at the key ares of harm: slips, trips, falls, burns, scalds, choking, poisoning and drowning. Elements of paediatric first aid are incorporated within the programme, and additional modules in road safety can be included on request.
This course is ideal for community practitioners working with children and families, carers, foster parents, or those in the health and social care sectors.
CPD Certificated Later Life Safety Training
A practical hands on course looking at the home safety environment for those in or entering later life, as well as practitioners or families caring for the elderly. The course cover the following: National Statistics of the unintended injury problem; slips, trips, falls, burns, scalds and poisoning; the ageing process and how the onset of conditions such as osteoporosis, dementia, hearing and sight problems can impact on the quality of life and injury outcomes for the elderly.
This course is ideal community practitioners working with the elderly, carers, families, or those in the health and social care sectors.
Each of our courses are approximately six hours in length (depending upon the addition of optional units), and can be delivered as a single day course or over several days, depending upon the needs of the client.
